St Hyacinth Feast day

Hyacinth was a Polish Dominican priest and missionary who worked to reform women’s monasteries in his native Poland. He was a Doctor of Sacred Studies, educated in Paris and Bologna. He became known for the many miracles which occurred. The most famous happened during the Tartars seige of the city of Kiev. Hyacinth had a tender devotion to the Mother of God.
