Relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey

Dear Parishioners and Friends of our Parish,

Our thoughts, prayers and solidarity remain with those suffering from Hurricane Harvey in Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast. The Office of Human Dignity and Solidarity of the Archdiocese of Chicago has started an emergency appeal to help those immediately affected by this catastrophic storm. Catholic Charities USA, the official domestic relief agency of the U.S. Catholic Church, needs our support to ensure delivery of care and support to individuals and families affected by the hurricane. Please pray and consider donating generously to help Catholic Charities USA strengthen their response to the loss and devastation in Texas.

Sacred Heart Parish will take up a second collection this weekend (September 9 and 10) for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Proceeds from this special collection will support the humanitarian and recovery efforts of Catholic Charities USA and provide support to affected dioceses though the USCCB.
